Aegis Legend 5 Box Mod

Great Improvement over the previous, but with a few gripes.

The touch unlock mechanism (which rarely worked for me), is now gone, replaced by a side switch. Yay!

Unlike the previous legend, you do not have to wait thru a silly splash screen before you can start using it. Once you turn it on, it is available for use almost immediately. (It still has a splash screen, but you just don't have to wait for it to complete before vaping).

Really love the USB-C charging.

Love the vibration feature that warns when batteries are starting to get low.

The Smart wattage works, but usually sets the wattage too low for me. I usually leave the mod on the Custom setting all of the time and ignore the other modes as they operate somewhat unintuitively.

IMHO they went a little crazy with the "bling" regarding the display animations and lights on the side. Something a young vaper might like, but looks silly if you are older. It is possible to turn off the side lights, but would be nice to turn off the other animations also in order to extend the battery life by a bit.

I am unsure about the paint, I have had this mod for only a short amount of time, but the paint is already starting to come off. Not sure if this is a deficiency in the paint, or just due to me being very active this summer.

I have noticed a few bugs with this mod, nothing major, but something to be aware of -->

After a battery change, the battery meter will occasionally not update to show the new battery level. If the batteries are low when you removed them, the unit will still continue to vibrate with the new ones as it thinks they are still low. This does not happen all the time though and removing and reinserting the batteries will usually correct this.

Multiple times now, I have turned off the side lights, only for them to come back on a few days down the road. This setting magically resets itself from time to time. This is not a big deal unless you are trying to conserve battery.

The smart wattage feature is neat, but always sets my wattage a little low. I can increase the wattage, but only by a few degrees, at which point the mode will change to "Eco". This makes no sense, if I am increasing wattage past the expected range of Smart Mode, it should just transition to custom mode. If I am decreasing the wattage in smart mode, it should then transition to Eco.

Regardless, I think the Legend 5 is a definite improvement over the previous version.
